A work in progress.

I thought to grab my camera, but I was not sure what there was to see. This probably tells me that I should have brought my camera. There is always something to see. Even if you do not know what to look for, or are not even looking at all. I saw leaves holding on for dear life, putting off the inescapable. I saw lines in the canal. Red cheeks and noses and fingertips. Hands wrapped around cups and mugs. I saw confusion, shorts and jackets and scarves and tee shirts. I saw the sun shining. I saw dawn taking its time.

I wish that I had brought my camera, if only to give myself a chance. Do not get in your own way, they say. I got in my own way. I often do. So much to see that I leave unseen.

I am going to Antwerp soon. I will bring my camera with me. I will bring spare rolls too, to encourage myself. I do not know what I will see, but I am sure that something will be there. Surely something will be there.
